I would like to share with you my experiences during the holy month of Ramadan.

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar and holds great significance for Muslims worldwide. It commemorates the first revelation of the Quran to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) during the Night of Decree (Laylat al-Qadr), which is considered better than a thousand months. During Ramadan, Muslims fast from dawn until sunset, refraining from eating and drinking, as an act of worship and self-discipline.

Throughout Ramadan, I wake up early to have the pre-dawn meal (Suhoor) with my family, followed by performing the dawn prayer (Fajr) together. After breaking our fast, we perform the evening prayer (Maghrib) and later attend the special nightly prayers (Tarawih) at the mosque, which enhances the spiritual atmosphere of the month.

One of my fondest memories of Ramadan is from when I was eight years old and decided to fast a full day for the first

From

Mariam Mohammed Mahdi Mansoor

6/1

Malkiya school

Peace be upon you Julia, I hope you are reading my email and are in good health. Today, I will talk about the holy month of Ramadan. Do you know what Ramadan is? It is the ninth month in the Islamic calendar and many events and battles took place in it and many heavenly books were revealed in it such as: the Scrolls of Abraham, the Torah of Moses, the Gospel of Jesus, the Psalms of David and the Holy Quran. Among the battles that took place in the month of Ramadan are the Battle of Badr, the Battle of Taif and the Battle of Tabuk. In this month, Imam Hassan al-Mujtaba (peace be upon him) was born, Imam Ali (peace be upon him) was martyred, Lady Khadija the Great (peace be upon her) died, and Mecca was also conquered in this month. In the month of Ramadan, good deeds multiply, so we must take advantage of this time to worship and fast for the sake of God. Fasting is not only abstaining from food and drink, but we also fast from cursing, swearing and backbiting and we must stay away from forbidden things. The benefits of fasting are many, including: Spiritual benefits: Strengthening the relationship with God / Enhancing patience and discipline / Reviving a sense of responsibility. Health Benefits: Regulates the digestive system / Enhances fat burning / Improves heart health / Stimulates detoxification. Psychological Benefits: Reduces stress and anxiety / Enhances willpower / Feels content and at peace. Social Benefits: Promotes a spirit of cooperation and brotherhood / Supports the poor and needy / Strengthens a sense of belonging. Scientific Benefits: Improves cellular regeneration / Improves brain function / Reduces inflammation / Improves insulin sensitivity / Slows down aging / Strengthens the digestive system. Behavioral Benefits: Enhances willpower and discipline / Reduces negative habits / Enhances patience and endurance / Refines morals / Develops a sense of social responsibility / Improves productivity and focus / Strengthens social bonds. Did you know that if you complete the recitation of the Holy Quran in Ramadan, you will receive more than three million good deeds? I like to decorate my house during Ramadan to feel the Ramadan atmosphere. We must maintain family ties and do good deeds as much as we can. In conclusion, I hope I have provided you with a lot of information. Until next time. Maryam Mohamed Hasan 6/A Qurnata school

Salam Alaikum John,

I hope this email finds you well! I wanted to take a moment to share some insights about Ramadan, which is a significant and cherished period for Muslims around the globe.

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar and carries immense spiritual significance. It is a time dedicated to reflection, self-discipline, and deepening one's connection with faith. During this month, we observe a fast from dawn until sunset, refraining from food, drink, and even water throughout the fasting hours. Each day, we break our fast with a meal called Iftar, while the pre-dawn meal is known as Suhoor. Beyond the act of fasting, Ramadan encourages us to engage in worship, including prayer, reading the Quran, and assisting those in need. It serves as a valuable lesson in gratitude, compassion, and mindfulness.

Personally, my days during Ramadan begin early with Suhoor, followed by morning prayers. Throughout the day, I concentrate on my work and daily activities with a heightened sense of self-awareness. After sunset, I gather with family to break the fast, and Iftar is always a warm and joyous occasion.

One of my most memorable experiences during Ramadan was organizing a community Iftar event. We invited individuals from various backgrounds to come together and share a meal. It was truly inspiring to witness how food and faith can unite people, fostering understanding and camaraderie. I still fondly recall the warmth of that evening—the laughter, heartfelt conversations, and the sense of belonging we all felt. It left a lasting impression on me about the power of community and generosity.

I hope this offers you a glimpse into Ramadan and its significance. If you have any questions or would like to learn more, I would be delighted to share.

Warm regards,

Sahar

Sahar Ali Qasim Grade 6-3

Al Malkiya Primary Intermediate School

It is a time to worship God and feel closer to Him. It also helps me understand how the poor feel and encourages me to be kind to them. To get ready for Ramadan, I decorate my house with beautiful things and start fasting even before the month begins.

During Ramadan, I like to read the Qur'an, make samosas, help in the kitchen. I enjoy getting closer to God through these activities. Ramadan changes my daily routine. In the morning, I go to school, and in the afternoon, I do my homework, read the Qur'an, and pray. On regular days, I only pray the required prayers and do my homework.

For iftar, I like to eat salona, thareed, kebab, and harees. For suhoor, I prefer lighter food. I also have special traditions during Ramadan, like praying for the Prophet, finishing the Qur'an, wearing traditional clothes, and preparing food with my family. I love cooking with my family, especially suhoor, and sharing meals with our neighbors. We always exchange iftar with our neighbors to keep our bonds strong.Ramadan helps me get closer to God by giving me more time to pray, remember Him, and read the Qur'an. It also helps me ask for forgiveness and be thankful. The most important lesson I learned from Ramadan is the value of patience, managing my time well, and helping others. It also reminds me to be humble and help the poor.

During Ramadan, I show kindness by giving food to the poor, donating money, and helping others in my community.

*Best wishes,

Malak*

Dear Julia,

I hope this message finds you in great spirits. I wanted to take moments to connect and share some thoughts on these spiritual days in this holy month "Ramadan". I appreciate your time and look forward to discussing this with you. Ramadan is a sacred month in islam, observed by Muslims globally as a time for deep spiritual reflection, prayer, and community engagement. It commemorates the first revelation of the Quran to Pophet Muhammed, highlighting its significance in guiding Muslims. During this month, adults fast from dawn until sunset, refraining from food and drink, which fosters self-discipline, empathy for the less fortunate, and a sense of unity among the faithful. Families often gather for iftar meals, where they break their fast together, sharing traditional dishes and cherished moments. A particularly memorable memory for many and especially for me is the celebration of Eid al-Fitr, a festive holiday that markes the end of Ramadan. This joyous occasion includes communal prayers, feasting, and exchanging gifts, reinforcing community bonds and and reminding individuals of the importance of gratitude, charity, and kindness.

RememberingRemembering these experiences encourages a continued commitment to spiritual growth and compassion throughout the year.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your response and am happy to discuss any questions you may have.

Fatima Ali Mansoor

6 / B

Ghurnata school
