The South stood a little chance against the North by themselves so they sought aid from the United States who immediately came to their side. America consistently supports North Korea's major enemy, the Republic of Korea. As years have passed South Korea has advanced to become more advanced and the North has significantly fell behind leaving it with only its nuclear powers to give it importance. Such importance that the DPRK (Democratic Public of Korea), the United States, and other countries have joined together to try and eliminate the threat that North Korea holds with it's nuclear weapons.
