After we learn about the different fitness components, FITT, and cardiovascular terms, students will have the opportunity to create a week-long (6 days) fitness plan that incorporates all of these components. This will be a project that will benefit their lives and also applies the things that we have learned in class. I have attached a blank document that they are able to organize their fitness plan with.

I will be able to use this learning environment a lot in my PE classroom through the different teamwork activities that I will implement. I found one activity on PE central that allows students to work in groups in order to obtain different materials in order to complete an obstacle course. It is a fun game that also implements different physical components. I have attached the link of the website that includes the full description of the activity.

I will implement this into my classroom by having 5 different stations titled with the different fitness components (cardiorespiratory endurance, muscular endurance, muscular strength, flexibility, body composition). Students will have time in their expert groups to look up their one fitness component using the website that I have given them (http://www.askthetrainer.com/5-components-of-physical-fitness/). They will also be able to use different sources as well because iPads will be provided. After they have a good understanding of their term, they will get divided into learning groups where they learn about the other 4 fitness components.

This can be implemented into a physical education classroom by having my students volunteer at a race (marathon, 5k, triathlon). This will help them see the process of putting an event together that involved physical activity. It is also very inspiring to watch individuals participate in these events and it will hopefully motivate my students to have that desire to live an active lifestyle and to push their limits. It also shows the importance of setting goals, dedication and the joy you receive when you succeed.

I could use this learning environment at the end of a sport unit. I found an example online that gives specific questions that the students need to answer but I can also allow my students to come up with their own questions to make it more meaningful. I have attached the website that lists the different questions and an overview of the lesson implementing inquiry learning.

This would be a great way to implement technology into my classroom because my students would be able to hear from someone that has benefited from physical education. I could have professional athletes, coaches, trainers, etc. This can help my students see the relevance of this class to their lives and how it can benefit their future.
