The Battle of Lake Erie was one of the first battles of the War of 1812. In the Battle of Lake Erie the Americans wanted to capture most of the water ways and the ports leading into Canada. The battle was a great battle with the Americans winning but they did not really gain much because Britian was just too strong. The Americans ended up with less casualties than the British with 123 to there 440. The American General in the Battle was Oliver Hazard Perry and the British General was Robert Heriot Barclay. This battle was just one of many to kick of the Battles of 1812.

The Treaty composed of the British and America completely backed there troops out of America and the Americans could have most of the Native land. The only thing that was bad about this Treaty was the the Native People had no say in any of this and it affected them too.

The Battle of New Orleans was a weird battle because it took place after the war. This was because it took a long time for word to travel about the war being over so they went ahead and fought. In this Battle the Americans completely destroyed the British killing over 2,000 just to there 60. People say if this battle took place before the war was over would the Americans gained more after it. It's possible they would but we can't tell. The Americans after the war of 1812 still had some difficulties with countries around them but still were a great country. The Battle of New Orleans really showed how strong America is and how strong they can get.
