Jordan, a five year old indigenous child, died in the hospital because the govt of Canada and Manitoba couldnt decide who would pay for his home arrangements and needs, due to which he spent his last two years in a hospital and never got to leave. To make sure this doesnt happen again, Jordan's family protested and so, Jordan's principle was put into place.

Jordan's principle is to make sure First Nations children get the services they need when they need them and no indigenous child has to go through what Jordan went through.

A health, social, or education professional directly working with the child that clearly indicated the diagnosis or identified need can apply for Jordan's principle on behalf of a child by writing a letter.

To be eligible for Jordan's principle one must be and ordinary resident on a reserve, be registered under the Indian act, have one parent registered under the Indian Act.

Jordan's Principle covers all public services such as mental health, special education, dental, physical therapy, medical equipment, physiotherapy and more. If you are eligible and have sent a request, you shall receive the money for that service, no questions asked. This is no that ingenious children no longer suffer.
