Rhythmic movement of line draws the viewer into the image. The rhythm echoes the sea that goes in and out with the tide. The image complies with the rule of thirds in its composition. This image is unusual in it composition because the seascape is portrait rather then landscape and you can not see a horizon line. The seascape fills the farm. The viewpoint is looking downwards.

Another panoramic image taken with the same equipment is "Languid Melody". This image was taken in New Orleans' City Park, also for the Bayou Tree Service calendar project. The stand of old live oaks in this image is near the headwaters of Bayou Metairie, a small stream that was filled in as the city of New Orleans grew up around it. The headwaters nearby (off to the left and out of the frame) are today the lagoons of City Park, which are used recreationally by park visitors. The horizon line is low and the low branch creates an arch which draws and invites the viewer in to the frame.

In this image you can see how it has leading line, drawing the viewers eye towards the vanishing point. Compositionally the image uses the rule of thirds with the lows third being the sea and the top two thirds. The formation of the clouds form two leading lines which lead to the vanishing point. The defused light in the centre is reflected in the sea.

He wanted to show in This landscape that there is more than death to his photos. Although this is of a famous battlefield it is depicted as a calm place, simple horizon line across the centre with leading lines of the track leading to the vanishing point. It shows depth and history. The clouds are moody and show that there has been a storm in the past but it is now clearing.
