After slavery ended they were share croppered in the south. By 1915 my great grandfather was born and in 1930 by great grandmother was born. And by 1970 the two of them got married and had 14 children whilst living in the south. There rendered extreme racism and they were activist in the civil rights movement. Sadly the year of 1986 my great grandfather passed away due to health complications.

Money was the main problem which was a big impact since they had to pay for food, bills and rent in order to live.

Since my great grandparents parents were African American not many jobs were hiring. They could have gotten stable and well paying jobs, but once the great depression made an economic impact my great grandparents parents had an even worst time trying to find for themselves since most African Americans were out of work.
