         <description><![CDATA[<div>Behaviors become more immediate and responses automatic. This is usually from ages 5 to 7 (Grade K-1 or 2), or any age for ELL, SP Ed etc.<br><br>Generally the books have 8 pages of text, fewer than 50 words, 2-4 lines per page, clear illustrations that match text, repetition if language, controlled intro of new language, sight words, interesting story concepts, levels BCD.<br><br>Instruction: guided reading groups for 20-30 mins 3-4x a week, focus on the reader's strategic decision making as they process&nbsp; text. Metacognitive talk (when students are prompted to explain their thinking)<br><br></div>]]></description>
