The African American community loved music and dancing during ww1. It helped them distract themselves and it was something they looked up for since it brought everyone together to feel free and have no worries in reality. In the 1920s and 1930s, Harlem became a symbol of the African American struggle for civil and economic equality while emerging as a flourishing center of black culture, art and music. African Americans created an enviorment that stimulates artistic development, racial pride, a sense of community and political organization. Langston Hughes said " Hold fast to dreams for if dreams die life is broken-winged bird that cannot fly. Hold fast to dreams for when dreams go life is barren field frozen with snow". They belived in sharing words and helping others understand the meaning of life. Blacks and whites when to harlem to break the law they sold alchol when the 18th admentment said that was banned. but they enjoyed the thrill and party life.

Esther jones is the name of the real betty boop. she was known for reviling dresses and for her known like " Boop oop a doop" she was also known for her curves.
