Overview:

This book is full of adventure and suspense. It provides fast-paced atmosphere of mystery, horror and strong performances of all the characters. 

Plot:

On yacht bound for Rio De Janerio, , passenger named Whitney, pointed out a ship trap island. He and his friend Rainsford are big game hunters and they are going for hunting trip in the Amazon River Basin. When everyone was sleeping, Rainsford went for smoking. He dropped his pipe, loses his balance and fell into the water. 

Luckily, he swam and reached the ship trap island. He slept as he was tired . He woke up next afternoon and started search for food. He found footprints of a hunter and followed them. Eventually, he reached at the big chateau. He knocked the door. A burly man, with a gun answers and refuses to help until another man General Zaroff appears and invites Rainsford inside.

General Zaroff used to prey animals but he started making humans his prey. He forced Rainsford to play the most dangerous game with him. He gave him 3 days to hide in the island with all supplies like food, water and gun and in the meantime if he finds him, he promised to kill him or else he will let him go back safely if Rainsford is able to survive. Rainsford played different tricks to hide from General Zaroff and he became successful. Like he hid on the top of the tree, under the water near bushes, and in the house of General Zaroff. At last, General couldn't find him in these 3 days . When General reached his chateau , Rainsford killed him and the burly man , Ivan , so that they don't keep on trapping other people who come to this island by mistake. Rainsford won the game though he did not play it fairly at the end.

In my opinion, tis is the best book because it compares two characters like Rainsford and General Zaroff in such a clear and open way that one can easily understand what character is more positive . Both are brave, know hunting, take risks and clever. On the other hand, both have committed killing human but in a different way and purpose.

in my opnion the book is very nice and creepy at the smae time but if your are use to scary books i will advice you to read it ,
it is scary in the start
