Water Reflection

One of the first idea I want to try is a water reflection which can be done easily with a hose and my driveway or I could bring water anywhere I think would have an even better background. I want to get more detail on the reflection image however and I have an idea to get the camera out of the picture.

Camera Placement

I want the tripod to be placed like the image below. I want to get it as close the the reflection as possible since it would probably be relatively small compared to the puddle example size. I don't want to recreate the image exactly but I feel this image portrays the idea that I have. I’d want to see how it would look if I were to turn the image upside down so my portrait would be right side up. I feel background is a very important aspect of these water reflection portraits.

For my second main idea I want to get an action shot of something almost exactly like this but not shooting. I want to be able to try a silhouette at the right time before sunset on the brophy soccer field either after school or sometime this weekend. Is there a way to set the timer and a rapid sports photo setting at the same time. I would need the tripod for this definitely.

Jeep Mirror

For my last concept I want to recreate this image with possibly a desert background and even a sunset. That’s asking for a lot but for this photo the background matters. I won’t be wearing glasses but ill seta timer on the tripod with the window rolled down and try to get a good portrait image. I’ll recreate this wiht my Jeep and I would have to do something like this on Monday when we have no school in the middle of th day or around sunset in order to get the right lighting for this picture.

Self Portrait Reflection

Now that the assignment is complete, I look back and see how I followed through after disliking the fact of not being behind the camera, working with my limited time, and sticking to my plan. However, I didn’t follow my idea of using a water relfction or the car side view mirror, I liked how my soccer action shot turned out with the lights and the sunset. Even though I tried to take a mirror shot I didn’t like the way it looked. My black and white and orange photo turned out really good too in my opinion. Overall, I don’t think this is going to be one of my favorite projects.
