It was shown by Statistics Canada data that there was a high record number of women who dropped out of workforce in 2014. The unemployment rate for women could have been risen to 6.5 - 7.3 per cent last year and could of been the highest rate in years, maybe even higher if it wasn't for the declined of them leaving their jobs.

Throughout the 1950's the "ideal women" or girl were known to do the cooking, cleaning, helping the children with their homework, and making their husband happy after coming home from a long day at work. While the men in the other hand were known as the "breadwinners" of the household who provide for the family with a nice home, great furniture, television. The women in this era had very huge responsibilities and duties to do around their home everyday for their families before everyone got home. Many women though did not always want ti have the role of the "ideal Women", some of them wanted to take the role of the men and work in the work force and provide for the family household, but it was very un common for women to do so and be seen as someone who can succeed can provide for the family.

Something that popped out to me while reading this article wast in the fourth paragraph under The Battle Ahead where they write "To achieve full liberation, we must build a movement that challenges the system that relies on women's oppression." which sounded very powerful to me and very true in my eyes.

This is a video by the CNN who interviews Sharon Hembree who worked at the White House, but has to leave because balancing work life and family life was very difficult for her. Parenting became too much work, taking care of her three children was hard, so she could not be the employ she wanted and needed to be. Which is very true for many women out there no matter if the women is a single parent or married. Women try their very best to do the home, family, and work life, but many just can not stick to all of it and end up leaving or finding a more flexible work place to have more time for their family and home life.
