People also began signing up for the patient portals in order to be able to communicate with their medical team more easily. It stated at the beginning of the video that EHR used to be so expensive only the government could afford to use it. Well, this was true back then, they fail to mention it in regard to modern-day patients. In order to use EHR and patient portals, you must have a device that can support the program. You also must be technologically literate in order to use the EHR. Thus, if you lack even one component of this equation, you cannot access EHR. The most successful one I have come across is order sets. When a provider places an order for something, the system will prompt them to order other associated things like labs, telemetry monitoring, etc. It will also provide links to evidence-based guidelines to support the recommendation.
