         <description><![CDATA[<p>Streptococcal Pharyngitis also known as "Strep Throat". This is an infection of the pharynx. This infection is formed in the back of the throat. This is caused by Streptococcus pyogenes, which is a gram-positive a group A streptococcus. The diagnosis is made based of results from a rapid antigen test or a throat culture.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Streptococcal Pharyngitis is acquired by respiratory droplets from an infected person. This can spread by talking, coughing, or sneezing. It also can spread by touching something with droplets on it, a person can spread it by touching their mouth, eyes, or nose. Infected sores can even cause "Strep Throat" to spread if a person touches them. There are even some people who do not have any symptoms and can carry the bacteria.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>People who are more at risk for Streptococcal Pharyngitis is when it's cold and flu seasons. If, a person is having close contact with a person who haves a sore throat or cold. Someone who smokes or has exposure to secondhand smoke is at risk. A person who gets frequent sinus infections or allergies. If someone attends a daycare or crowded schools, they are at risk. Streptococcal Pharyngitis is most common in the children 5-15.  Streptococcal Pharyngitis is contagious as well it is recommended that a person who is infected to remain away from people for about 12-24 hours.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>The signs and symptoms of Streptococcal Pharyngitis is a sore throat and a fever greater than a 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Another symptom is pus on tonsils and large cervical lymph nodes. The other symptoms are headaches, nausea, and vomiting. Strep Throat also can be red eyes, hoarseness, runny nose. People throats can even burn. The symptoms begin about one to three days after exposure.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>The treatment for Streptococcal Pharyngitis is antibiotics. The antibiotics shortens the duration of the acute illness for about 16 hours. You can take this orally or you can get a steroid shot. The antibiotic's prevent rheumatic fever and retropharyngeal abscesses. Amoxicillin is normally what is given for strep throat.</p>]]></description>
