Parents Education by Bin-Avenues https://padlet.com/AvenuesSZ/txll3ckvwkng4284 en-us 2021-05-14 00:51:47 UTC 2021-09-01 01:05:13 UTC hello@padlet.com Partnership michael_maccarone https://padlet.com/AvenuesSZ/txll3ckvwkng4284/wish/1523311516 If we are hoping to best support student learning, we want parents to be partners in service of their growth and development.  We all refer to our own educational experiences often when we deal with students, and so parents rely on our support to help understand models of learning that may be different from their own.  As an example, it can be challenging to parents, students, and teachers alike if a student comes home at the end of the day and their parent asks, "What did you study in science class today", only to hear "I didn't have science class" -- a more valuable question from the parent, which the student may be better prepared to answer, is "what experiences did you have at school?  what are you working on?  what are you finding interesting?"    Parents often need support in both understanding our educational approach, and also in how to connect with their children to support their learning and understanding about school.
