I really liked your concept of identity not being static, that it can be changed over time. It is reflective of life, and how we change as we grow with experience and knowledge. I feel like this is reflective of not only personal identity, but our national identity as a whole. It's quite obvious when you see the development of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, and policies that have never existed before.

I thought this picture brought forth an interesting and valuable concept of being citizens of the land. I think this picture really highlights our relationship, and therefore also our responsibility to the land.

Hey, Hayley! :)

pic 1 - I loved how your description seemed to touch on that sense of "awe" that so many of us feel when we see or are in a natural place that just resonates with our heart. That emotional experience creates a bond with the land that we as teachers can help foster in our students - thereby helping to instill a sense of value and respect for the natural world. This is key to a sense of loyalty to the land that I feel is part of being a Canadian citizen.

Pic 2 - I enjoyed how your pic of the garbage and recycyling bins hilite diverse ways that we enact citizenship, and that we actually have many duties as citizens for community stewardship - for ourselves, and for one another.

Pic 3 - What a great way to get at the heart of the importance of diversity in tandem with equality, and how many identities work together to make a community that is rich and meaningful.

Pic 4 - I agree with Cindy - what a unique and fantastic way to bring for
ward how our lives and identities are not still in time, but that we all grow and change. So, too, do our communities and thus, our national identity.
