I love the way this is worded:
Shifting our perspective to rediscover our inspiration and passion.
b. For one day, commit to paying attention to the commentary in your head. Are you viewing things as “half full” or “half empty”? How might you reframe your “half empty” thoughts into something more positive?

I liked the daily practice of centering ourselves. I think that is something I can always remind myself. Check something off and don’t worry about it again! I think it’s important to have a rest day and stick to it.

Space 2 resonates with me with not looking a the glass “half full or half empty,” but having the mindset on how or what does one attribute positively to create a glass that is overflowing? Compassion towards everyone, looking at something minor with an open mindset, and seeing the good in every person, because of our life’s purpose. Building up one another and seeing beyond “it’s too much work,” will help your “glass” to become consistent with what matters the most, a valued relationship.

Something that stood out to me is focusing on the present. Sometimes I get so wrapped up in worrying about tomorrow that I don't focus on the present and what I can accomplish that day. I need to stop and remind myself the "why" of teaching and all the other things will fall in place.

One of the things that really stood out to me was to be present in the moment. I think that as teachers we all want to plan ahead. I have noticed when I am just in the moment with my students, they get the best me. When I try to plan ahead and think to much then they only get half of me. It is a goal I am working on this year. With all the uncertainty this year, it is nice to just be in the moment.

I really resonate with creating space for inquiry. "Focusing on the present and understanding our intention in regards to our work" As someone who has trouble choosing to prioritize what is of most importance and value for me to be working on at the moment, it helps me when I recognize the why behind whatever it is I may be doing, whether personally or professionally. It also helps me find motivation when doing the things that have to be done even when I don't feel like doing it.

I liked this whole piece, but really found "Finding Balance". It suggested some things I could focus on and try to accomplish, daily, knowing it could make a huge difference in my day! I tend to try to help others and do not really focus on taking care of me. Thank you for sharing it with us Jayci!!

I'm having a hard time choosing because I think I need to work on pretty much all of them, but 2b - paying attention to the commentary in my head goes along with what I've been thinking about recently. I am aware that I need to be more aware in the moment of how I'm feeling and reacting - creating enough space in the moment to be able to choose my reaction and perhaps (GOAL) calm myself before I get so anxious. In my book study on Onward, I have learned that I am a castastrophizer. My overthinking takes me to all the possible worst case scenarios instantaneously. I am trying to learn to hit the brakes on these reactions. It is so hard!

I’m sure I have thoughts running through my mind all day, but I rarely stop and think about what they are, because I’m so focused on what I’m doing at the moment. I think it will be interesting focus on the commentary in my head, and see where those thoughts are leading me.
