         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>-BIRTH CONTROL PILL<br></strong><br>The birth control pill is a pill that contains estrogen and progesterone to prevent ovulation and thicken the cervical mucus. It must be taken every single day for three weeks and a placebo pill for the fourth week. This is when a woman will get her period. <br><br><strong>-BIRTH CONTROL SHOT<br></strong><br>The birth control shot is a shot that contains progestin, which thickens the cervical mucus and prevent ovulation. Imust be injected by a nurse or doctor every three months. <br><br><strong>-BIRTH CONTROL IMPLANT<br></strong><br>The birth control implant is a tiny rod that is inserted into the upper arm and lasts up to four years. It contains progestin.<br><br><strong>-BIRTH CONTOL PATCH<br></strong><br>This is a small, square piece of plastic that sticks to the body (belly, upper arm, back, &amp; butt) like a bandage. It has estrogen and progesterone. It must be replaced every three weeks and placed on a different part of the body each time. You will have one week every three weeks without the patch. This is when you will have your period.<br><br><strong>-BIRTH CONTROL RING</strong><br><br>The birth control ring is a flexible piece of plastic that is inserted into the vagina and replaced every month. It contains the hormones estrogen and progesterone. <br><br><strong>-EMERGENCY CONTRACEPTIVE<br></strong><br><br>An emergency contraceptive is a single dose pill that must be taken within five days after having unprotected sex. The sooner it is taken, the better. Contains hormones or medication that prevent pregnancy.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>-ABSTINENCE</strong><br><br>Having no sex at all. <br><br><strong>-WITHDRAWAL<br></strong><br>Removing the penis from the vagina before ejaculation.<br><br><strong>-NFP (Natural Family Planning)<br></strong><br>Keeping tract of when you are most fertile. <br><br>Three Methods<br>1. Cervical Mucus Checking: During ovulation cervical mucus is clear and has the consistency of uncooked egg whites. This is when you are most likely to get pregnant. <br>2. Basal Body Temperature: A regular BBT is between 97° and 98°F. At the time of ovulation, your BBT will rise between .5 and 1 degree. It can be taken in the mouth, vagina, or rectum.<br>3. Rhythm Method: Based on keeping track of previous menstrual cycles on a calendar. Ovulation often occurs around day 14 of your menstrual cycle.<br><br><strong>-BREAST FEEDING<br></strong>Breast feeding your baby every four hours during the day and every six at night stops ovulation.&nbsp;<br><br></div>]]></description>

The vas deferens (tubes that carry sperm to semen) are cut apart and then tied off.<br><br><strong>-ESSURE PROCEDURE<br></strong><br>A nonsurgical procedure in which metal rods are placed in the fallopian tubes, blocking the entry way for sperm.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>-IUD (Intrauterine Device) </strong><br><br>This is a T-shaped device that is inserted into the uterus and last for 3-12 years depending on what kind you get. Some are made of copper and some are hormonal. The hormonal IUDs contain progestin, which is similar to progesterone. <br><br><strong>-CONDOM<br></strong><br>A male condom is a thin stretchy pouch that is worn on the penis during sex to prevent semen from getting into the vagina. A female is inserted into the vagina to block sperm from getting to the egg. This method also protects against STDs and should be put on/in right before sex.<br><br><strong>-DIAPHRAGM<br></strong><br>This is a shallow cup made of silicone that is inserted into the vagina and covers the cervix during sex to block sperm from entering.<br><br><strong>-SPERMICIDE<br></strong><br>A chemical birth control that slows sperm down to prevent it from fertilizing the egg. Spermicide comes in the for of cream, gel, film, foam, and suppositories (soft inserts that melt into a cream inside your vagina). It is put into the vagina right before sex.<br><br><strong>-SPONGE<br></strong><br>A soft, round sponge that is put into the vagina right before sex and covers the cervix. It contains spermicide to slow sperm down.<br><br><br><br></div>]]></description>
