After being put in this position he put his allies in government positions. 2 years later Lenin died and Stalin won the fight for the leadership of the Soviet Union.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Pros:<br>-There was a large rise in the production of electricity, cattle, pigs, grain, coal, and steel<br>-Peasants were able to grow more grain because they could make a profit<br>-There was an improvement in living conditions<br>-The government began to encourage foreign trade<br>-There was more money in the country itself because the government was collecting tax<br>-Production was increased because workers actually had something to work for so they put in more effort<br>Cons:<br>-People began making a profit which angered the Bolsheviks because they believed it was a betrayal of communism<br>-Minors, metal workers, and engine drivers were being payed less than before<br>-Cities were extremely overcrowded<br>-The prices of goods were still too high for many of the peasant</div>]]></description>
