·      A gap year doesn’t have to last a full year and can be taken at any age, but the typical gap year is taken by students between high school and college 
·      Fill in what students haven’t learned in schools 
·      If student’s are still interested in college and considering a gap year students should still apply to colleges their senior year 
o   When students are accepted they can send a letter to admissions asking to defer their acceptance 
o   Deferral letters should be sent between April and mid-June
