Smart
Shes smart because she is a woman going to college, to be a doctor, and she has sharp wits.
"Oh, I probably will... but first I'm going to be a doctor, and George, for one, still thinks that's pretty funny. I couldn't be bothered with that. I am going to be a doctor and everybody around here better understand that!" (Hansberry 50).
Beneatha knows what she wants, and she knows how to get it, even if she has to be rude about it. To me, that's very smart to focus on yourself and your own future.

Personal Opinion on Beneatha Younger

I think that Beneatha is a very relatable character, she is my favorite character. I always tend to connect to her, agree with, and sympathize her. She is a good person and knows just how to get what she wants in life. She wont let any man, or family member, tie her down from going to school and achieving her dreams of being a doctor. Even though she has her fights with Walter and Mama she loves them. I respect that. I also admire how she is so diverse with her hobbies and outfits, while staying true to herself.

Why the lyrics relate to her

The lyrics relate to Beneatha, and the whole Younger Family because it has to deal with living in poverty. In "A Raisin In The Sun" they are living in poor conditions. The lyrics state that "the check will arrive" and the family is waiting for their check most of the book. They want to get out of living in poverty and have a nice house.

The theme of "A Raisin In The Sun" is Class/Money
To Asagai after Walter loses the money: “While I was sleeping in that bed there, people went and took the future right out of my hands! And nobody asked me, nobody consulted me – they just went out and changed my life!”
This quote supports the theme by showing Beneatha has dreams of being in a bigger class and becoming a doctor. But because that schooling money was lost she feels like she is stuck in the class shes in, and her dreams were ripped away from her.

This piece of art relates to Beneatha Younger because the people are Nigerian made by a Nigerian artist named Ayeola Ayodeji. In A Raisin In The Sun Beneatha's boyfriend Joseph Asagai is from Nigeria, and he wants her to come back with him to Africa, so she can go be a doctor there and learn her culture. Before this in the book Mr. Asagai influences Beneatha to cut her long straight hair off and to keep it short and curly. In her natural afro. She even spoke about moving there in a positive way and seems to be happy with her natural new culture learned from Joseph.
