Infancy

During my infant years, I was told that I was very energetic. I would move around a lot and climb everywhere. Although I don’t really have memories from those years, I know that being energetic and playful shaped who I am today.

Early Childhood

I was very curious during these years of my life. One example was when my sister asked my mom about a word she didn’t know. When I heard this, I began to think that everything had a meaning. So I randomly asked what 'shababa' meant, a made-up gibberish word, because I truly believed that every word had a meaning.

Preschool

I was wild and full of curiosity during my preschool years. I would often go outside and explore the forest near my home. I loved discovering new things and trying to understand what was never taught to me. I enjoyed experiences that required me to do things physically. I was the complete opposite of an iPad kid.

Elementary

During my elementary years, I realized that I wanted to do and achieve many things. In Grade 3, I became part of the basketball varsity team, and by Grades 5 and 6, I joined the badminton varsity. I even represented my school in the DACS tournament, where I proudly finished in 3rd place.

Adolescence

My adolescent years have been the most stressful stage of my life so far, yet they were also filled with growth. I was part of multiple volleyball varsity teams, and in Grade 11, I was included in the Ateneo DACS lineup where we finished as silver medalists. Although it was disappointing to fall short of the championship, the experience taught me resilience. Now, I focus more on helping my parent run our business. I even try to invite Ateneo students to our café to make it more known in the community. Since I find it difficult to socialize with people I don’t know, I have been working on improving my networking skills in Grade 12, knowing that in the future, connections will play an important role in my success.

I hope you are truly happy. By now, I want you to have realized that life becomes so much better once you stop sulking over small things. Learn to forgive, let go of anger, and free yourself from negativity. Do not let the opinions of others affect you and instead focus on finding your own happiness.

I know you will reach your goals and become successful enough to help others without hesitation. Prove to everyone that you are worthy, not through pride but through your achievements and kindness. Let people look up to you, but always remain humble.

Never forget the real ones who stood by you. Cherish them and stay loyal. And above all, do not ever give up because you only get one chance at life, so live it with courage, gratitude, and purpose.

I was in Grade 4 when I played singles in badminton during our intramurals. I really wanted to win, but in the championship match I lost to a senior who was much taller than me. I think the score was 27–31. I felt sad after the loss, but I also knew I had little chance because he was already part of the varsity team. Still, it was a good experience that motivated me to keep improving.
