The story is about a boy who wake up a Saturday morning and he heard normal noisy outside of his apartment through his window but he could hear nothing inside his house, I mean, he did not listen to his mom making the breakfast or his sister playing or fighting with their brother or his brother screaming even his dog was very quiet. This situation was very weird for the boy, so he decided to get up and look for his family around the house but he could not find them and they did not respond when he called them so he felt very nervous and scared. Until he came to the kitchen and saw the surprise birthday party and gift that all his relatives had prepared for him. In the end, he was very excited with his new bike.

The central idea of the story is the strange silence of Carlos' family on a normal Saturday morning, which is an explicit idea.

Carlos is the protagonist of the story “Saturday’s surprise”. I think, given facts of the story where the birthday present is a motorcycle, I suppose Carlos is already of license age, so I could say that Carlos must be around 16 to 18 years old.

It is evident that Carlos’ family is very close and loving, because they agreed and worked as a team to celebrate Carlos' special day.

Since the whole family had to raise money to buy a motorcycle that was not new, I suppose it is a family of middle social class.

The problem of this story was the abnormal extreme silence of Carlos' family, which alerted him a lot. But in the end, he realized that it was all a plan to hold a surprise party for Carlos' birthday.

The point in the story of highest tension, maybe was when Carlos realized that the clock in his room marked 10 o'clock in the morning and there was absolute silence in his apartment, then he decides to get up to look at his family from the door of his room and can not find them. This caused him to become very frightened and his heart rate increased.
