I read the last two chapters and so far I am loving the story. I think it was time Holden left the school for good because he definetely did not fit it (Its full of phonies). Maybe this is the beginning of his story outside school? I really hope he encounters with Jane so we know her point of view.
-Ludmila:)

I´ve just had finished reading the last two chapters and I'm enjoying the story so far. I liked Holden´s behavior during these two chapters because he doesn't let anyone control his life and does what he thinks is right for him. Maybe sometimes he made bad decisions but I admire his determination. I´m looking forward to read the next chapters.
-Matías Achulli

I've fineshed reading the last two chapters and I'm convinced that he is just too young to expirience the things he wants to. He wanted to have sex, but instead he started talking to Sunny and saying he had just had an operation (it was a lie). He wanted to have friends, somebody to talk to.
He said that he felt more depressed than sexy, but was he? He was scared, alone, vulnerable. He wanted to act like an adult yet he can't and maybe that frustrated him.
So far, I like the story!
-M.Paz Díaz Hoyos

We belive the story to be utterly dramatic in a good sense. The characterization of Holden is great, this character whose extreme lack of self-love drives him to hate his surroundings. At times it even hits on personal spots as he wouldn't be the first teenager to feel that way.

We also liked the story's ambientation. It was full of details about that time and it made us more involved in the story's context. It also helped us to understand the chracter's feelings.

~Lucas González Vaccaro; Matías Achulli Achulla

The ending surprised me in a the sense I never thought he would feel pure joy. We get to know his sensitive side and how he really feels about everyone. He misses them. He yearned for being alone the whole boo, but once he got a taste of it, he took It back. I believe he tried to jump off a balcony (like he mentioned at the hotel) or meybe he hanged himself because he mentions that killing somebody by cutting them would be a mess.
I really enhoyed the story and I think they should make a feature film about it (even though the author did not want that). Thank you for bringing such an interesting book!
-Ludmila :) <3

At first, we found the book quite interesting but hard to keep the reading within every class. We believe this story can be helpful but also appealing to read specially for teenagers as Holden has to go through differents situations, emotions and conflicts that are related to a teenager's life. About the ending, we thought that he tried to kill himself after all he went through. That's why he ends up in what we think it's the hospital.

A very interesting book that can be easily understood even if English it's not your first language. We'd recommend reading this book to understand how an adolescent's life looks like.

Nazarena Diaz & Rocio Ampuero <3

The book was fascinating, we liked that there was some humour, contrasting with moments of depression in the story. And despite it is a story written in the 1951 we felt related to some issues that the protagonist went through. The story was also very descriptive, it was full of details of the time and place it was setted.

- Romina Venchiarutti and Macarena Cabello

From my point of view, the book was very interesting. I like the way it representates the transition from childhood to adulhood and how hard it can be for many people. I also like how the story is written since it is pretty childish and it suits the character, but at times it is a bit annoying.
I think it is a good choice if you are looking for something easy to read. It is not hard to follow the story and the words/phrases are not "weird"
-Martina Knedler

When we started the book we actually found ourselves enjoying the story and curious to find out how it progressed. While this enjoyment didn't fully go away, the writing style of the book proved repetitive and slightly irritating with how much it repeated certain slangs and structures.

Narrative-wise, while it may have been a bit slow at times, the pace was nice and entertaining. Holden is a character who you can really sympathize with and understand his reactions to situations around him due to what he has gone through.

We recommend the book specially to young people like us who are coming of age since Holden represents some of the issues that may occur at this life stage. However, like we mentioned, the writing style and pace may not be for everyone.

Lucia Rodriguez and Carmela Diaz Stefani

I found the story really interesting as it breaks with the structure of most stories. It does not have a conflict, or at least, not an specific one, the whole text is a conflict of his life. I felt like reading some sort of autobiography of what growing up was for the character.
I would definetly recommend this book to people who look for something different. It is easy to read as it does not have very complex words, it is written in an informal register.
-Lucas Palomino

"The catcher in the Rye" I think is a very entertaining book to read and interesting to analyze. At first, when I had just started to read it, it had not caught my attention in the first chapters, but from chapter 4 I went deeper into the story which made my reading more bearable.

I really liked knowing and understanding Holden's character and how all his problems and traumas had an explanation behind them and that little by little you understand why he behaves the way he does. I also think that these topics such as loneliness and depression were treated very well in the book by narrating all these feelings from the point of view of a 17-year-old adolescent.

I recommend the book to everyone who wants to read something short, entertaining and easy to read, especially to young people.

Delfina Avendaño
