Un autre bonus qui vient avec toute cette neige est que parfois, les transport scolaires sont annulés et personne ne vient à l’école. 

We haven’t got corridors as in your school because the classrooms aren’t in one building. Our classrooms are side by side and sometimes there is another upstairs. But there are different buildings with classrooms such as the school life office, the library... We have a lot of space between the classrooms with plants and green areas.

There are paths so as to go to each classroom and they connect the buildings together. We have walkways to the classrooms which are upstairs.

We have lockers too. Two people who are in the same class use the same locker.

The lockers aren’t as big as yours. They are smaller and we put just our books, tablets or something that we don’t use for the day anymore. We don’t decorate them because they are small. We use a padlock but we can choose if we use a code or a key.

In the cantine you can eat a starter, a main dish, cheese and a yogurt or a piece of cake and you don't have so many choices. For example a typical meal is composed by salad, chicken and rice, chocolate/fruit/sweet yogurt and an apple or a banana.

However in the cafeteria you choose really whatever you want to eat such as sandwiches, panini, salads, French fries, nuggets and you can also drink sodas such as soft drink and coke...

And, in the outside area, we have a cash machine : we can buy soda, fruit juice and very different cakes. We use coins.

We are going to tell you about our typical day at school. First of all, we have four school days : on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays we go to school from 8:55 AM to 5:30 PM and a half of a day on Wednesdays we start at the same time but we finish at 11:55 AM. Our days are quite long but we have got a long time for lunch.

For an ordinary day at school, we wake up at 6:30AM then we get ready and we take the bus around 8AM which allows us to get to school at 8:40AM. Class starts at 8:55AM, all the classes are 55 minutes long.

 

During the lunch break, after eating, we can study in the CDI - it’s a sort of library, or we can just stay in the schoolyard, we can also practice some sports such as climbing, playing basketball or football. Some people go to the “pastorale” room, it is a room where pupils can practice the religion. It is also the only room where you can use your phone.

We are not allowed to use our phone during the classes neither in the school yard, but some of the people are cheating and using them during the tests.

If you really like art you study a literature A-level with art option.
 In our school, students make different projects like paintings, photographies and sculptures . Also they can decorate the library by making paints on the tables, or decorating it during the celebrations for Christmas or Halloween.
 Theater option is proposed to the students who wants to act after classes in " l'arbre de Vie" .They can play 2 hours a week. 

I put some pictures of our library and the art class. 

There is also a race track and a climbing wall which is 22 feet high. On the race track, there are three handball fields and two basketball fields outdoor.

In our high school, there are associations with which we can practice others sports such as surfing, climbing, skiing, rowing and soccer.

We can practice these activities when classes are over such as during lunch time or at weekends.

 Students who participate to these activities can go into the wild for climbing on a real cliff. During the winter, the school organizes skiing trips during some weekends in the Alps. On Wednesday afternoons, students go surfing with the school along the coast called “ la Côte Bleue “ and choose a spot where waves are the best.

In June, when classes are over, other trips are organized and during one trip we can go surfing to Portugal.

 In our region, we can practice sea sports such as scuba diving, windsurfing, rowing and sailing. We can do these activities during all year because during winter, it is not so cold.

St Elisabeth is the surfing site of our school.

Our school is part of an exchange program called ESN (European School Network). During the year, the students can choose to be part of an exchange and go abroad to discover a new country, do a lot of activities and meet new people. For example, this year, students can go do nordic winter activities in Finland, be part of a food seminar in Italy or make short films in Holland. In June, we invite students from schools part of ESN here to do sea sports. It's an amazing concept which allows us to travel for cheap, have fun and become more sociable.

We think it's great that our school allows us to do this kind of trips and exchanges. It's fun and educational at the same time.

 science A-level is designed for people who are into chemistry, physics, Maths, ...
 Economy and socials A-level is for those who are interested in today society and its evolution. STI2D deals with sustainable development. 

But before final exams, there is a tradition in March which is called "les 100 jours avant le bac". These are two days where all future graduates disguise themselves. This year it will be from Thursday 16th to Friday 17th. In the evening, there is a bal.

Here we have science lessons such as physics and chemistry, SVT (Life and Earth Sciences) and also MPS lessons (methods and scientific practices). Physics and chemistry explain the natural phenomena of the universe. It corresponds to study the world around us in all its forms, the laws of its variation and its evolutions. The "life and Earth sciences" involves many topics such as health, environment, natural hazards... Finally, MPS is a combination of mathematics and physics. These lessons require certain tools and stuff. That's why all the rooms are equipped with microscopes, washbasins, computers, high white desks and a projector. As well as all the chemistry material like beakers, testers, scales ... This type of lesson lasts one hour or an hour and a half. During the experiments we must bring our white coat. We have two libraries in our school, one for the 9th and 10th grades and another for 11th and 12th grades. The library is a room where we go to study at any moment of the day for example when our teacher is missing we have to go there. In this room, there are many parts. We have a working area with tables where we can study, there is also a reading area with sofas and a room with many computers. The library is supervised by Marie, she likes to change the decoration of the room with some projects from the art lessons and with some works from other pupils. Recently we add to this room a giant chess which was built with our 3D printer.

There is also an amphitheater where there is about three hundred seats. In this room we take our tests. During 10th grade there are 2 commons tests, during 11th grade there are two "bac blanc" (it's training for the bac) and during 12th grade there are three "bac blanc". We can also do conferences on several themes with debates... And we do meetings with parents for the orientation... In our school, there is a big room called "l'arbre de vie". In there, we do some sports such as dance, step, muscle strengthening, ping pong... we also have all the equipments for this type of sport in a sort of reserve in both side of the little scene of this room. On this scene, we do some performances most of the time with the school's choral. This room also has a religious role and we have some gathering for the students who want to assist to religious celebrations. That's why we have a stained-glass window in there. This room is very important for 12th grade because they do their "prom"  at the end of the year
