I just joined this school when year 7 started, so I would consider myself fairly new. The learning experience here compared to my last school in Pakistan ,is in my opinion different in a good and bad way. It’s good because here each lesson is 1 hour and the teachers have the lessons planned really well and they are interactive with the students and each student knows their assigned seats and in some classes their assigned roles. The reason that it’s not perfect is that they are no physical books like for like information so other then that nothing else is bad.

I recently just joined the cricket team of our school ( under 13), and it’s been going really well and I have been selected for all the matches and performed well. In Year 8 i will also try out for other sports like football,basketball, and probably volleyball too.

This is my first time ever doing MFL and originally I wanted to choose Spanish but then I came to find out that all Spanish classes were full and I only had a choice between French and German and I chose French. I have been doing exceptionally well in French, in all cfu’s, classes and etc.

Our cricket team just made the DESSA u13 cricket tape ball tournament’s semi final and in the quarter finals I got MVP and took 4 wickets which led our team to the semi finals!!!

This is the islamic poly print which is basically when your have a polystiry and the print of an mosque then your trace the drawing with dots that go through and then after you paint over the mosque.

This was my first time doing anything related to the periodic table and at first it was confusing but then I got the hang of it and it was really fun.

This is my best CFU performance in terms of 3 for maths.

Recently for maths, I have been struggling a bit ever since I moved up to set 2 and I want getting the best marks because I needed some time to adjust to this set but now I think I am improving and doing better.

For me I think my best term in maths performances in cfu’s was in term 1.

For me maths all over the school year went like this:

TERM 1: I was moved to set 3 and when I found out if was the lowest set I wasn’t pleased to hear that so I made it a goal to move to set 2 hopefully by term 2 and for that I focused a lot in class and for the CFU’s I did really good and almost all the time got highest in my class.

TERM 2: I achieved my goal and I got moved up to set 2 and it took me a while to adjust to the class and I tried my best to fully focus in class and I did because in my first set 2 CFU i did really good.

TERM 3: I fully adjusted to set 2 but for some reason I found quite hard and challenging and it showed in my CFU’s because I didn’t get good grades but in the middle I contributed to the class really well and in some of the CFU’s I did fairly well.

For PE I’ve been taking full part in all activities like:

1)Futstal: this is basically football but instead of playing it on the big field outside in 3G you play inside sports hall and I found this really fun and in this the goals are really small so it’s tactical and hard to score

2)Badminton: I enjoyed badminton to and learnt some new shots and applied it to the game and got better

3) swimming: in swimming I’m not the best but I’m not bad like in swimming we play water polo which is basically handball in the swimming pool and it gets tiring because you need to swim towards your goal and the other teams.

This is my first year doing Arabic and I’ve been the top performer in my class and I contribute to my class really well and understand what we do. In the spelling tests I get full marks every time, in the CFU’s I also 99% of the time get full marks, and then for the end of term and end of year assessments I perform well and in the most recent EOY I got 97 out of 100 and was one of two top performers because me and my friend both got 97. The last EOT I got 96 out of 100 which was the highest in class. Recently in the Parent teacher meetings my Arabic teacher told my mom that she will move me to a higher set.

In MSC we have been learning about healthy life styles and what would happen to you if you would not have a balanced lifestyle. We also learnt about tolerance in term 2, and the last thing that we did was a presentation in groups which focused on 2 countries cultures : 1) Japanese culture and 2) emarati culture. This mainly focused on how the old cultures of these countries were compared to their current culture.

In Geography we focused on a book called, “The prisoners of Geography”, which talked about all the different countries and helped us develop the skill of using geographical tools and map skills. We also focused on a long topic about the human and physical geography and their main differences.
