It shows them all looking at the camera which creates audience interaction. Iron Man, Captain America and Thor are in the middle as they are the characters that people recognise the most. They are all standing straight to shoe their importance.

The background is dark and stormy to fit with the film, and also make the characters stand out.

Some people will buy a magazine just because it's Empire. They also make it stand out because Empire is a very well known brand, and people will be more likely to buy a magazine that they know has a good reputation.
