         <description><![CDATA[<div>Townspeople were better off then serfs because serfs were not free and could not get any other jobs without permission.Townspeople had more freedom then serfs and got payed money from their job, while serfs did not get paid anything. It is said in the text that "A great many of peasants were serfs meaning they were not free.Serfs could not leave there manor if they were not free."Most towns people were merchants and artisans.Merchants got money from the goods that they sold.</div>]]></description>
