I have experienced the UbD as positive from the perspective of looking at a full week with brief notes on each day. On the other hand, I don't feel that it facilitates co-planning because I have trouble writing concise notes that are easy for someone else to grasp quickly. I seem to be the only one who can grasp my own notes.

I think that using the template in google classroom definitely facilitates co-planning and allows all members to participate regardless of where they are. As a person who supports teaching and learning in the classroom, it affords me the opportunity to be a participant in the process and offer modifications and accommodations for all learners that might be beneficial in the planning process.

The UbD is a useful template for my colleague and I to come up with some different ideas on teaching similar material. It does seem to take a long time to put one together because the language seems like it needs to be extra specific and detailed.

I find the UBD template helpful for thinking through the unit at multiple levels, and especially for narrowing the focus. Sometimes I find myself being repetitive in the Stage 2 boxes -- maybe I'm misunderstanding the differences between them?

1) I do think it is a necessary piece in the puzzle of how to improve practice. 2) I do think it is a way to foster same grade conversation. 3) I think it was useful to look at a strong unit and to talk about what was right about it. 4) I am not sure it is the most "high leverage" PD strategy... however, it is certainly a reasonable focus and, one might argue, it is a necessary initial step.

The UBD works well as textual evidence to others that one knows what one is doing, but personally I only complete them because they are required.
