1.	Do you think the aforementioned internships or mentorship programme could really help bridge the gap between students’ expectations and realities in the workplace? Apart from the support from companies and schools, how should students better prepare themselves for career?
2.	There have been a lot of comments and criticism saying that the young generations or the “millennium” are far less competitive and welcomed in job markets. What do you think are the main reasons for such criticism? What are the qualities they lack? What should they do in order to convince their future employers that they are capable and suitable?

From my point of view, the main reason why critics think young generations are less welcomed in job markets is that the youth nowadays are lacking certain soft skills which are essential in a job.

Their abilities are undoubted as they receive higher quality of education than before, however, they might not have skills like confidence, communication and reliability. It is because young people are all too aware of the importance of getting good grades and overlook the the soft skills and the confidence necessary to prosper in employment.

They should try to familiarize themselves with the job they intent to apply for, and most importantly show their supervisors their enthusiasm in their work.

In my opinion, the main reason for this is the gap between us, youngsters and the older generation. We are very lucky to be born at a time when economic was developing rapidly. Most of us have a wealthy life and we get what we want. Most of the time, our parents have planned our future for us already, we do things what we are told. For example, we’re told to get good grades, or internet class or tutorial classes to join, or what jobs to peruse in the future. Everything are planned for us already. On the other hand, the life of the older generation was harder. Things like meat, mooncakes and toys seems normal to us nowadays ,but these were actually expensive. Not everyone had a chance to receive education. They suffer more than us and faced more obstacles, so they have more experience than youngsters nowadays. The two totally opposite experience of the older generation and youngsters causes different behaviours and attitudes. The older generation uses their own standard to measure us youngsters. Maybe that is why there is such criticism towards youngsters nowadays.
And I believe thatthe lack of experience of youngsters is also one of the main factors factor that causes us to be less confident with lower self-actualisation, weak problem solving ability and resilience.
If they want to convince their future employers that they are capable, they need to show that their will to learn even if they know they are lacking. No one is perfect from the start, or should I say no one is perfect. There is no problem when lacking. When your employers know that you are willing to learn, I am sure he is going to give you an opp

The main reason for young generation being far less competitive and not welcomed in the job market is that teenagers nowadays are more stubborn and weaker compared to the older generations. Nowadays, students in school often just learn about the knowledge on textbooks instead of having some real experience. They can get a satisfying result just by studying the contents on books. As a result, they will lack some important skills needed in the job market . For example, how to communicate well with colleagues, how to work as a team or what to do when you don’t understand your job duty. Thus, teenagers today have to learn about more soft skills needed and to be exposed more frequently to the outside world

Yes,I think it could help.Since the gap between the employees and employers is really too big.The employees think it is hard to get job opportunities while the employers think that it is hard to hire right and suitable people. These are all because both of the stakeholders don’t know one another’s situation.I think that the internship and mentorship programme can help bridge the gap.The programmes can let the employees recognise the skill that they should know to find a suitable job for themselves. In addition, the employers can get to know more about different qualities of the graduates. The internship programme can also let the students to know more about different work types so that they can seek their jobs as soon as possible after their graduation. On the other hand, the relationship built between the companies and the graduates can be continued after the graduates need to work officially. In this case, both of the stakeholders can get a win-win.Therefore,I think the internship and mentorship programme can help bridge the gap.
