As they are a medical doctor, they will view their work from a biomedical model as opposed to a biopsychosocial model which is used by clinical psychologists and other mental health professionals.

A psychiatrist differs from a clinical psychologist as they often focus upon the medical model of mental illnesses rather than the psychological aspects.
