The USA is slightly above average in terms of Gender Gap. These rankings are based on many factors such as involvement in economy and society, opportunity, health care and survival, and possibility of being involved in politics.

Economy: In the USA, males have a higher average income greater involvement in the labor force. This occurs because the past has carried into the present. For the first two centuries of American history, females were designated to working in the home and taking care of the family. This trend has faded as of the past couple decades.

Education: In terms of Education. females and males are equal, as provided by the statistics. Women have higher enrollment in tertiary education, such as colleges and universities.

Health and Survival:

Politics: The least ranking category, gender equality in politics is very unbalanced. The USA has never had a female president and very low female participation in government. In the USA, men have been in charge of America since the founding of this country. A prime example is the "founding fathers".

The whole problem revolves around people being uncomfortable with Gavin. However, we see hundreds of people in our lifetime that we are uncomfortable with and that doesn't give us the power to change the way they live. Gavin struggles with even the smallest social constructs, bathrooms. He goes in and out of the bathroom minding his own business. Looking at him you could not tell that he use to be a female. The people complaining about him are those that new him when he was a female, but if a random person walked into a bathroom and saw him they wouldn't have any complaints.

Ways Boys Become Men

In different Cultures, there are different rites into becoming men. Almost all rites have to do with masculinity and what it means to become a man. In almost every Culture, becoming a man involves gaining responsibility. A new weight gets put on the boy's shoulders, whether it be religious, economic, or loyalty to tribe related. All of these rites lead to essentially the same thing, however, the rites define very different ways of becoming men. For example, in radical groups like ISIS, the initiation deals with extreme acts of violence dealing with masculinity in an extremely 'tough' and aggressive manner. In reaching the same status in Papua New Guinea, boys must perform oral sex on older men. This happens to be counter-masculine in our culture but has the same outcome.

Children can determine their gender Identification at age 4. They can also be aware of gender/social roles by age 9. One tool useful in learning one's gender idea is the Genderbread Person. To figure out one's gender one must discern 3 things : Which gender do you feel comfort with, your gender expression, and your biological gender. Another question that was raised is, When exactly is it the right time for someone to be able to identify their gender. Likewise, one scientific reason given was the levels of testerone in boys and girls.
