The lyrics were not as important to him, but he strategically inserts a couple quotes about her feelings. Some other criteria he looked upon were the production value and her "legacy", claiming that certain songs were just skippable.

Pitchfork opens the review with intense adjectives and descriptors such as potent, submissive, painful, and ballad heavy to draw the reader in and make them interested. The review continues by relating Lykke's current life to the chronology of the album, giving Pitchfork ethos and logos for having credible information on her and her album.
Some other criteria are how Pitchfork discusses the overall length of the album and the mood of her vocals.

Rollingstone had not much to say, but mostly stayed on her instrumental backings to her vocals, the mood, the story of the album, and how this album was in relation to other albums.
