         <description><![CDATA[<div>Grand pyramids were built in the Old and Middle Kingdoms of Egypt as tombs for great pharaohs. <br>These pyramids were built as testament to the wealth and grandeur of both the pharaoh and the country.<br><br>These pyramids started as humble monuments but eventually grew larger as the wealth and skills of Egypt grew. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Egyptians believed in preservation of the body for the afterlife, removing all organs except the heart and then drying in the body in a special drying salt. <br><br>The body would then be coated in a layer of resin and then wrapped with strips of linen. The body would be placed into a wooden casket and then sealed into a tomb befitting the person. The body would be left with luxuries and fine inscriptions for their journey to the afterlife.</div>]]></description>

The most powerful god of the pantheon was Ra, identified with the sun. <br><br>Ancient Egyptians also believed that their actions affected the gods and that they might cause disaster to occur if displeased. Natural disasters like the eruption of a volcano are examples of this.</div>]]></description>
