When covering FS1 Red and FS2 Red, we try to spend as uch time outdoors as possible. FS1 were taken outside to explore patterns. With FS2 Red we complete some inputs outside where possible, including mini inputs. This is consistent with the teaching every Wednesday.

I have introduced loose parts into independent play. FS1Green are manipulating loose parts using their own ideas. One child was building a home for the insects, others were exploring cause and effect: balancing the cups, tree cookies and egg crates on top of each other.

In Maths we used the outdoor area to explore measuring length. The children enjoyed using loose parts to measure shoes and footprints. They used chalk to draw around their feet to find out who has the longest feet in FS2 Green.
