I spent several years living in Mililani and then moved to Palolo valley when I was about 6 years old. I work at a sandwich shop called Sprout and it's probably the best job I've ever had. In my free time I love to hike, go to the beach, and go to the park. I try to make time at least once a week to do one of these things. Growing up, I lost the motivation to learn because all teachers and parents cared about were good grades. Some seemed as if they didn't care if we actually learned anything; just as long as we got a passing grade. I want my students to love learning and continue to have that love of learning throughout their lives. One obstacle I have is money. My parents spent a lot of money on my brothers and I. They both finished college and I am the last one to go. I didn't want to burden my parents with more tuition bills, so I've decided to pay for my own school. They still help me when I need it, but I try to pay for most of it. I've been working a lot and also trying to stay in school and get on track. It took me a while to get used to creating this, but it was fun getting to put this together. I'll be using Google Slides along with many other apps to create these kind of activities for my students. In Bloom's Digital Taxonomy, we use the standard creating because we had to create an app for this assignment. I didn't know where to start with this project, but I got some inspiration from my classmates and also got great feedback on how to make it better. Going into the project, I had briefly read about the definition of learning science and I was worried because I had no clue what they were talking about. However, after talking with my group and researching more, we were able to fully understand what it is and were able to give lots of examples for it. Some standards used in this project are Bloom's digital taxonomy understanding and applying, and all 4 c's of 21st century learning. Throughout the semester, we had to communicate often. Then when we met up to discuss our project, we needed to be creative and use critical thinking to finish this project. Because learning science is about learning how people learn, we were able to find many different methods of teaching. They were all different but still targeted the many standards we've learned about. I will be able to use all these assignments and lessons in my own classroom one day. I will know how to efficiently use technology to better my teachings. Personally, I wasn't used to the idea that students would be using so much technology at such a young age in classrooms. But after going through this course, I can see all the benefits that come out of it. One main obstacle I had throughout this course was my procrastination. I started off strong. I would complete my assignments a few days before the due date and start other assignments early. But I started to get back into old habits and wait till the last day (like I'm doing right now). I won't have this class anymore after today, but I will try my best to kick this old habit with my other classes.
