Sorry but I don't have immediate access to a library and my laptop has an issue opening downloaded files at the moment so I had to use my iPad and Pinterest for this exercise.

Working on this exercise initially, I found some interesting photos and then was reminded of art and artists I encountered before and really appreciated:

- The elaborate and critical approach of Mark Bryan, Todd Schorr, and Mr.Misang could be interesting to explore.
- Similarly, I find the use of pop imagery in Beeple's and Victor Castillo's work fascinating. Not only that, there is a surreal quality to their work.
- I like sci fi book covers and propaganda art so those could also be interesting to explore. The latter is especially striking and I also noticed the link between my topic and communism. In a past project, I looked at North Korea and learnt about how there were nominated people living in residential buildings who would report on their neighbours. This is just an old fashioned form of surveillance and the same in that data is being used against people.
