I Woke Up Like This: Speaking Two Additional Languages--Fluently by Ms. Chisholm

Language is a part of one’s identity. If you could wake up tomorrow speaking two additional languages—fluently, what would they be and why? Also, do some research on those two languages. Consider their history. Where are the languages mostly spoken? Are the languages increasing or decreasing in use? Are they difficult or easy to learn? Why? Please research anything else you would like to know about the languages as well! Please be prepared to volunteer your response to class discussion. YOU MUST cite the source(s) from which you retrieved your information (copying and pasting the website suffices).

This influence is seen in Tagalog words and their spelling.
French: French is a Romance language (meaning that it is descended primarily from Vulgar Latin) that evolved out of the Gallo-Romance dialects spoken in northern France.
I took French, and I think that it is easy to learn, however, learning the grammar and etc it is hard. I can speak it fluently if I had confident in me. If tagalog was not one of my native language it would be very hard to speak it fluently because there no rules in sentences. It is a run-on sentence.

Websites
https://www.livinglanguage.com/blog/2014/11/25/tagalog-a-history-of-the-language-philippines/

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_language

I would enjoy learning this language so I could visit the country considering how beautiful it is as well as its history.

I also would enjoy learning German, in elementary school I had a class in which we were taught but i was only at that school for a year so i didn't really get to learn much nor do i remember.

If I were to wake up tomorrow speaking two additional languages, I would have to pick Italian and French.

Id pick Italian because I have a great aunt that is Italian, and she visits a couple of times a year. She no longer lives in Italy though. She has since moved to Pennsylvania. I guess to be closer to other relatives. She can speak English perfectly and doesn't have much of an accent.
The Italian language stems directly from Latin, the language is a Romance language. The language was developed gradually from the Fall of the Roman Empire in 5th Century.
Only 5% out of 100 students learn this language course according to timeshighereducation.com.
For the French language, I picked it because how amazing the architecture and landscape the country is. Also the city of Paris would be a great place to be comfortable using the fluency.
French is one of the five official local languages of the United Nations and the language started a little before Italian. It was created in the 1st Century B.C. , developed from the Vulgar Latin language brought to Northern Gaul which was a region of Europe at the time.
French is the official language in 29 countries and has a 400% growth rate over the last decade.

These are the languages I would want to wake up speaking tomorrow.

Noah Eaton

www.orbital.com > Language > French

https://www.europassitalian.com/learn/history/#origins-of-the-italian-language

If I woke up and spoke 2 languages, I’d have to go with Spanish and Vietnamese. I want to go into the medical field, therefore, Spanish is extremely necessary. Nearly half of the US speaks Spanish and it wouldn’t be unlikely for a Spanish speaking patient to come in. It’s increasing everyday in the US. It’s a fairly easy language to learn as I already speak some Latin and French (Haitian Creole) which is also a Romance language. Guess what! English is derived from Latin... but Spanish is more noticeably similar. I would want to know Vietnamese for a completely different reason... nothing to do with history. I just want to know what they’re saying at the nail salon or if they’re trash talking my feet! It could be useful!
https://www.coloradomesa.edu/spanish/why-learn-spanish.html

If I could wake up tomorrow and know two different languages I would have to pick Spanish and Mandarin Chinese. I would want to learn Spanish firstly because it is the second most common language spoken in the USA. I think gaining another language specifically one which is spoken by so of my other country men could only improve my chances at finding a job and at just getting to know people more. The overall use of Spanish in the USA is growing. Spanish is also one of the easiest to learn. I would also like to learn more of the history of Latin America and of Spain so knowing Spanish would definitely help. I would also like to learn Mandarin because it is the most widely spoken language in the world. Mandarin also has a deep history and would let me learn a lot about the history of China which I am becoming very interested in. It is one of the hardest languages to learn but I would be up for the challenge. A lot of people in the USA also speak it.
https://accent.gg/10-reasons-why-you-should-learn-mandarin/
https://www.worldatlas.com/articles/the-most-spoken-languages-in-america.html
https://www.babbel.com/learn-spanish

I would like to speak Spanish because it’s such a commonly used language and it would be beneficial to speak if I wanted to go into certain jobs. Spanish is also one of the most spoken languages in the world but is mostly spoken in Mexico and South America. I think speaking Spanish fluently would not only benefit me but would be beneficial to the people around me, by translating things and helping people who don’t understand Spanish, try to have a better understanding of it. Spanish originated in the Southwest region of Europe and has been used for many years. 332 million people use this as their native language and Spanish is widely taught and used in many countries.
Another language that I would love to speak would be French. It would also be beneficial job wise and is one of the most used languages in the world. I have also always wanted to go to Europe, which would also be a good reason to know how to speak French because Europe is where this language is mostly used. Today, French is the official language of 33 countries and has been spoken since the BC time periods. Many influences has adjusted the French language such as the Gaulish dialects, German, English, Greek and Italian.
Both of these languages are increasing in use around the world everyday, and is becoming widely used in the United States. The difficultly of these languages can depend but most would say French is harder to learn rather than Spanish, because Spanish is more similar to English than French.
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.rosettastone.com/lp/french/history-of-the-french-language
https://www.babbel.com/en/magazine/how-many-people-speak-french-and-where-is-french-spoken/
https://www.alsintl.com/resources/languages/Spanish/

If i woke up being able to speak two languages fluently, i would want them to be Spanish and Korean. My mothers first language is Spanish, so i would love to be able to have that connection with her and that side of my family. As well as it would help if i ever wanted to go visit my mother homeland of Panama. Spanish is a language that many people have stated to pick up now. Most time Spanish speaking people live in Central America, as well as some in Europe. Spanish is a romance language that originated in Spain. The styles of Spanish have changed a little and you can now find multiple different types of Spanish in the world.
I would also like to learn Korean because my brother was born in Korea, as well as my grandfather was stationed there when he was in the military. Korean is a language spoken by about 80 million people in East Asia. Knowing Spanish would make it easy to communicate with different people, and knowing the language can open up new job opportunities. I have been taking Spanish classes at school but would like to continue to learn it fluently. My second language would be Mandarin because it is the most widely spoken language in the world.
