         <description><![CDATA[<div><em>The Perks of Being a Wallflower</em> is a <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bildungsroman">coming-of-age</a> <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epistolary_novel">epistolary novel</a> by American writer <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stephen_Chbosky">Stephen Chbosky</a> which was first published on February 1, 1999, by <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pocket_Books">Pocket Books</a>. Set in the early 1990s, the novel follows Charlie, an introverted teenager, through his freshman year of high school in a <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pittsburgh">Pittsburgh</a> suburb. The novel details Charlie’s unconventional style of thinking as he navigates between the worlds of adolescence and adulthood, and attempts to deal with poignant questions spurred by his interactions with both his friends and family.<br>Although Chbosky's first book was a commercial success, it was banned in some American schools for its content. In 2012, he adapted and directed a <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Perks_of_Being_a_Wallflower_(film)">film version</a> starring <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Logan_Lerman">Logan Lerman</a>, <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ezra_Miller">Ezra Miller</a>, and <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emma_Watson">Emma Watson</a>. The film boosted the novel's sales, and the book reached <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_New_York_Times_Best_Seller_list"><em>The New York Times</em> Best Seller list</a>.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>- Charlie is writing to an unknown person, who he believes can help him with his problems, although he has not met this person, after hearing from a girl in his class.<br>- His best friend, Micheal decided to shoot himself, and the guidance counselors believe "problems at home" was the main reason.<br>- He is now starting his first year in high school. His advanced English teacher, Mr. Bill thinks he is good at reading and assigned him more books than what his classmates suppose to be read.&nbsp;<br>- His sister is dating a really sweet boy, who spent time making handmade mix tapes for her to listen. Charlie saw them fighting once, and eventually, saw the boyfriend of her sister slapped her when she said he is funky. After that, he again accidentally saw them having sex in the basement.<br>- Charlie makes friend with a senior in his shop class, Patrick, who he usually mentioned using the nickname "Nothing".&nbsp;<br>- Late Aunt Helen is his favorite relative as she used to stay with his family for a while because of the problems of her own.<br>- He saw his dad crying once when they watched the last episode of a TV series together. It is their little secret.<br>- He met Patrick and Sam, his stepsister, at a football game. Sam is a nice girl with pretty green eyes. He then had a crush on Sam, and even, dreamed having sex with her.</div>]]></description>
