Luckily they never got to the position of presidency but they got votes. They were known as the "Know-Nothings" because whenever they were asked about what they thought about political issues they wouldn't speak on it and say "they know nothing."</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The only reason why we feel like this election was relevant was that it was the first presidential election we saw the Know-Nothings running for the presidency. Their party quickly falls but they held a good rep "county" wise. If the know-nothings hadn't run we would've seen more of a difference in the votes. </div>]]></description>

This claim went all the way to the Supreme court and the court had said "no matter where in the world you go your master owns you and has rights over you." </div>]]></description>
