Pd 5 Raccoons: Human Impact + Abiotic & Biotic Limiting Factors that Effect Natural Selection by Kellie Stover

Each student must add a note to this padlet. 1-
Put your note in the column of your ASSIGNED Topic; 2 - Type the name the Limiting Factor first - 3.Next Identify/type if that factor is abiotic or biotic - 4. Finally, explain how that factor effects "natural selection" See Mrs. S for clarification if needed

(Abiotic)

— Pest control is used to kill bugs mostly put on crops
— If ingested by animals could make them sick and potentially kill them
— For example the bald eagles became endangered when a type of pesticide (DDT) was in ground water and ingested by the bald eagles. When they laid their eggs, the pesticide softened the shell of the eggs, so when the mother birds sat down to keep their eggs warm, the softened shells broke under the weight and the babies inside were killed.

The process removes the genetic variation of those out through the process. After going through the process, they are also more likely to develop genetic diseases.
