Leading a workshop? Give teachers voice, choice and ownership in the workshop process<br><br></div><ul><li><strong>Voice </strong>- Get teacher feedback on what they need or want to grow in to help design your workshop.&nbsp;</li><li><strong>Choice </strong>- Have like minded people help you run mini-workshops - Send out a GoogleForm to teachers ahead of time, asking them which option they would like to participate in.&nbsp;</li><li><strong>Ownership </strong>- Have an exit ticket - ask teachers to commit to trying something new they learned with their own class.<br><br></li></ul><div><strong>&nbsp;2. Listen, Share and Listen some more<br></strong><br></div><div>It’s easy to talk about agency with others. Sharing your ideas and what you think might work well in their classroom. But make sure to take time to observe their class, get to know their students and routines. That way you can help incorporate ideas of student agency that will work, and be sustainable with their class.<br><br><strong>3. Find your supporters<br></strong><br></div><div>Every school has teachers with a range of experiences with, and attitudes towards agency. Find like minded teachers to work with. Once you work together and have systems in place for student agency, other teachers will take notice and come to you to get ideas on what it might look like for their learners.<br><br><strong>4. Notice Opportunities for others to Flourish<br></strong><br></div><div>Every teacher facilitates student agency in some form or another with their learners. Notice and name it when you do see it. Positive encouragement will help those teachers to grow their ideas and feelings towards student agency, and allow both the teacher and learner to flourish.<br><br></div><div><br></div>]]></description>

( Students, teachers, parents, administrators, and all members of the community )<br><br>2. <strong>Reflection </strong>is essential at each level of the learning process. &nbsp; Encourage and enable all team members to engage in initiatives that <strong>serve a purpose</strong>. Consider the <strong>significance and relevance</strong> of every <strong>task</strong> and <strong>reflect </strong>on and <strong>anticipate </strong>whether these actions will contribute to the learning process of our students. <br><br>3. <strong>Implementing Smart goals</strong> that benefit the entire team, and encouraging students to establish personal goals for their own learning process. <br><br>4.&nbsp; &nbsp;<strong>Promote real-world issues</strong>, problem-solving activities, projects, and inquiry-based tasks that spark students' curiosity.<br><br>5. Enable and encourage educators to transition from providing students with feedback to providing students with <br><strong>feed-forward.</strong> Instead of assessing a student's past performance, we can focus on their <strong>future growth when providing feedforward.<br><br>6. </strong>Prioritize a <strong>standard-based learning approach</strong> - Focus on what students can accomplish with the help of a more "knowledgeable other" rather than focusing on what they haven't accomplished. <br><br>7. Promote Carol S. Dweck's <strong>“The Power of Yet”</strong> to help students and teachers adopt a <strong>growth mindset.<br><br>8. </strong>Provide students with <strong>cognitive, social, and emotional strategies and techniques</strong> that will assist them in resolving difficult problems regardless of where they are.<br><br>9.
