         <title>codes &amp;amp; conventions(tropes) (21,09,16)</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>to help a viewer understand the movie if they join half way there a few things the producer will incorporate are:<br>- props<br>- period( time setting)<br>- performance(actors)<br>- characters<br>- music/sound<br>- setting<br>- technology.<br>camera skills:<br>today i learnt how to take loads of different shots. i now understand a numerous amount of camera angle which will be useful throughout the course. some shots i learnt are:<br>- hi and low shots<br>- dutch tilt, tilt<br>- pan<br>what i enjoyed:<br>i really enjoyed the practical side of the day, taking the camera out and taking shots allowed me to get to grips with the camera. the reason i enjoyed this was because it allowed me to be creative around campus. in the work i done today i gained the knowledge of white balancing and exposure which i look forward to using in my work in the future.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>22,09,16<br>today we looked init the shot list for the film the room. we done this by exploring the script and then took it upon ourselves to pick specific shots. at first we couldn't find the best spot possible but we had to settle with a space where there was a lot of foot traffic which created some background noise, other then that it went well.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>23.09.16<br>today we looked at different adverts and we analysed some which we wanted to.<br>then later on we went onto risk assessment and job roles. we were shown a filming setup which was totally wrong and we needed to point out mistakes. this allowed me to understand in the future what risk may arise when filming myself.</div>]]></description>

         <title>semeiotics and lighting</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>28.09.16<br>today i leant about semeiotics. i found out that it is something that happened in our day to day life. signified is what we infer from an image or word. signifier is the what we actually see, we looked at traffic lights and the the signifier is the lights and the signified is the inference we take from is so the red light for danger the green light for go. then we looked at lighting which i found very interesting and am intrigued to use it in my own work. what learnt today i found fairly easy and i will remember it in detail. for example if i was to take part in a photo shoot i would be using the 3 point lighting setup so i could achieve the fill light.</div>]]></description>

In future I think I'll stick to focus groups, or 1:1 interviews for research. I think that's the vox pope don't work because some people are very shy to be filmed which makes it very&nbsp;difficult.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Today we learnt how to use the sound equipment the following equipment is used for the sound man:<br>Boom pole<br>Tascam<br>Shoutgun mic<br>Xlr cable<br>Lapel mic<br>Clapper board<br>We looked at a scene and were given roles, I was the clapper board holder so I needed to hold the board and then&nbsp;read the scene, take and roll for the camera.</div>]]></description>
