The Force Public or Army is a group of enslaved African People and White officers that served as King Leopold ll's army for his new state. They were the ones who followed orders from Leopold to execute and oversee laboring Congolese people.

The Force Publique are to blame for the 10,000,000 killed Congolese people. The Force Publique has the blood on their hands, they were the ones who burned villages, tortured, abused, and brutally killed the Congolese with their firearms. As well as this, they feared for themselves, and with their own selfish intent, refused to stand with the exploited workers and instead, chose to take advantage of men and women, even when they weren't instructed to.

This quote paints a picture of just why the Force Publique was so horrible. This supports my claim because while some of the 10,000 were probably laborers or escapees, some were probably those raped or who died in a fire set by the force publique officers. While one could argue that because Leopold ll sent in the orders he was the one responsible for those who died from escaping or from not meeting that month's quota. This is valid but that still means that Leopold cannot excuse the force publique from those killed in sexual assault or who burned to death.Those deaths caused by the force public because whenever they would it's actually assault someone to the point of death or set fire to a village they were not following orders they were doing it for their own pleasure or entertainment.

This evidence is a perfect representation of how the force public justified their actions. This supports my accusation that the force public was responsible for the 10 million murders because it shows that the force public chose to keep themselves safe and out of danger rather than stopping mass killings and exploitation. They had the power and influence to in theory challenge king Leopold and his high-ranking officers but instead chose to murder innocent families and laborers.

This evidence further demonstrates how the force public we're murderous because while they were simply following orders they were still following through on brutally killing people. The Force Publique are slaughterers and are responsible for the 10 million Congolese deaths, the blood is on their hands. They not only killed those in violation of rules but eventually seemed to be massacring innocent people for sport, as they killed those simply trying to stay alive or who did not meet that month's quota.
