  • It lightens hair
  • It has a  pH of 9
  • It penetrates the the cuticle to make permanent changes in the cortex
  • It renders hair pigment colourless
  • It  changes melanin to oxymelanin
  • It can cause damage to the hair and scalp
  • It comes in a variety of substances
  • It must be mixed in a non metallic bowl
  • It is mixed with Hydrogen peroxide: 3%- 10 vol, 6%- 20 vol,
  • 9% -30 vol or 12% -40 vol

    Gives 1-5 levels of lift. Not suitable for on the scalp application can be used with:
    3%-10 vol,
    6%-20 vol,
    9%,-30 vol,
    12%- 40 vol.

    EMULSION BLEACH:
    Slow acting bleach that can be used directly on the scalp. They contain matte emulsifiers which neutralise unwanted yellow tones while the lifting is taking place.

    OIL BASED BLEACH
    Good for a full head application, gives 1 to 3 levels of lift. Oil bleaches give a golden blonde shade to the hair and do not lift pigment as completely as other bleaching products.

    CREAM BLEACH:
    Suitable for full head applications,. They contain extra conditioners to protect the hair and scalp.

    Bleach can burn the skin and hair
    Extreme care should be taken when mixing and applying bleach:
    • Mix in a well ventilated room using  a non metallic bowl
    • It should be removed gently without massage
    • It should be rinsed with tepid water
    • The hair should be shampooed with a mild shampoo and conditioned with an ANTI-OXIDIZING conditioner
    • Development time is not specific. Results are visual
    • Always follow MANUFACTURES INSTRUCTIONS
    • Always wear PPE during application and removal of bleaching products

    Sodium Persulfate are oxidizing agents which accelerate the bleaching process of peroxide hair bleaches
