         <description><![CDATA[<div>I overcame my fears and finally i went snorkeling! Amazing experience the ship reck and the corals!!!<br><strong>Civil and social competences<br></strong>Goal:promote citizen’s responsibility to the environment&nbsp;<br>Accessing prior knowledge &nbsp;<br>Ask students the following questions:<br>1. How did you feel after?<br>Take action<br>Give the students the following statement:<br>A very well known businessman visited this beautiful island and thought that it would be a fantastic idea to have a beach bar on this island. Tourists would have cocktails and famous singers and music bands would give concerts. On the other hand local community disagree with this idea.<br>Half of the students will represent the local community and the other half of the students will be the investment company.<br>Debate will take place tomorrow at the beach house!!!<br>Stay tuned!!!<br><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Initial situation: a class group of 15 students from the third secondary school (15-16 years old). They are studying modern languages.&nbsp;<br>Objective: the pupils learn to use the foreign language "French" in practice. They use their vocabulary and grammar purposefully and develop a positive attitude towards cultural diversity<br>Assignment:&nbsp;<br>1	we take two boats to the islands around Sainte-Rose. Before they get on the boat, the task is explained in the foreign language and I make sure that they have understood it (step 1: understand). I also add a competitive element to increase their motivation: once they set foot on the boat, no more Dutch is allowed. The captain keeps an eye on this and points it out to the students.<br>2	During the boat trip to îlet Caret, the goal will be for them to take in the surroundings as best as they can. The captain will stop here and there to give more information in French (listening skills). What do they see? What do they feel? What thoughts go through their heads?&nbsp;<br>3	Once we arrive on the island, we make a large circle with the whole class and each student writes down 1 key word in French in the sand in front of them. The word that has stuck with them the most during the boat trip based on what they have seen/felt/thought. For example: freedom. Then everyone takes turns calling out their own word very loudly. Afterwards, the idea is for the students to vote for the best word of a classmate. At my signal, the students scramble and line up behind the word they are voting for (so the top 3 quickly become clear e.g. freedom, happiness and joy of life). (step 2: express)<br>4	Then I draw three large rectangular boxes in the sand: in the right box it says freedom in large letters, in the middle box happiness and in the left box zest for life. I make up a story about a Guadeloupean in which these three words play a major role. During this story, I try to use as much knowledge as possible about the cultural aspect of this country. The students remain fascinated again because a game-element is added: every time they hear the word "freedom" in my story they have to stand in the right-hand box as fast as possible, the last student falls off and has to stand aside. At the word happiness they have to stand in the middle box as fast as possible and at the word life all the way to the left. We play until there is one winner left. (step 3: interpret)<br>Conclusion:<br>In this way the students not only learned a lot of new vocabulary today, but also had to actively listen to the captain on the boat and the teacher's story during the game. Through the captain and the teacher, they also received additional cultural background to develop a positive attitude towards cultural diversity. Learning a foreign language informally is part of the lifelong language learning journey.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Dear new friends!<br>Today was a magic day! <br>I started by making my bed. Second day in a row. I know that I should keep doing it every morning for the next 58 days in order to become a habit but I have made the first step! <br>We<br>&nbsp;spent the rest of the day in nature. How many colours of the sea! Under the strong sun or under the dark clouds...he sound of the ocean wind...the smell of the grilled fish....the carrebian music...the dancing...the happy faces...<br>Big day....in different perspectives...I was given the opportunity to practice the 7 things I can control in my life!<br>1. I was facing a personal situation today that was not in my control. Which were my choices? Be sad vs be happy. It was not easy but I managed to be happy about the beauty around me (according to the morning video) !<br>2. It was very easy to be kind to others since everybody was very kind and caring to me. Thank you all for your support and acceptance!<br>3. I put an effort to my life everyday. My personal life, my work, my gym, my meditation...<br>4. I enjoy learning something new everyday! A lot I have learnt during this cource. History of the island, about plants and animals, about social justice and racism, about customs. I have so much to share with my family and colleagues and students back home!<br>5. I am gratefull for a million things! Health, family, old friends, new friends (!!!!), sun, sea, clouds, rain, ice-cream, cheese, my job, erasmus, Georgia :-), flowers, cats, dogs, coffee, music...<br>6. I found little pieces of broken glass on the beach today, just like Rita said! I do not understand how they ended up on the beach. I gathered them to through away so that nobody gets hurt.&nbsp; Good for me good for everybody!<br>7. I have decided to be surrounded by you guys! And that was a good decision!<br>Moto of the day and of the whole life: live the moment!<br>Here and now!<br>.....<strong>to</strong> <strong>be</strong> <strong>continued</strong>.....</div>]]></description>

Education in its dual role, both social and economic, has a key role to play in ensuring that Europe’s citizens acquire the key competences needed to enable them to adapt flexibly to such changes. One of the key competences of the Reference Framework is ‘Cultural awareness and expression, the appreciation of the importance of the creative expression of ideas, experiences and emotions in a range of media, including music, performing arts, literature and the visual arts.<br><br></div><div><strong>Group: <br></strong>a diverse group of pupils who are here on exchange in Guadeloupe and visit the Grand Cul-de-Sac Marin together. <br><br><strong>Skills:&nbsp;</strong></div><ul><li>To be aware of the local cultural heritage and their place in the world.</li><li>To understand the cultural diversity in Europe and other regions in the world, the need to preserve it and the importance of aesthetic factors in daily life.</li><li>To develop an open attitude towards and respect for diversity of cultural expression.</li></ul><div><br></div><div><strong>Assignment:<br><br>1) Préparation</strong>: @ Grand Cul-de-Sac Marin</div><ul><li>The pupils snorkel in the beautiful nature reserve and enjoy the wonderful underwater world. They are instructed to use all their senses and to consider the impact the underwater world has on them.&nbsp;</li><li>The pupils are divided into groups and assigned to choose a certain type of fish. They pass their choice to the teacher on the boat (first come, first served). The groups do not know from each other which fish is linked to them.&nbsp;</li><li>Each group keeps a close eye on their fish. How does it move? Does it swim alone or in groups? What colors does it have? Is it a big fish? Once they get out of the water, they are asked to think about this and write down some words.&nbsp;<br><br></li></ul><div>2) <strong>Elaboration</strong>: @ Workshop Gwo Ka</div><ul><li>The pupils follow a workshop Gwo Ka and are taught the different basic techniques. After a collective workshop they get the time to invent a rhythm for their fish together. Important: It is not about the perfect performance, but about their behavior which is the willingness to be creative and to cultivate aesthetic capacity through artistic expression and participation in cultural life.</li><li>Afterwards, the other pupils guess which fish it was exactly.&nbsp;</li></ul>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Mathematics is everywhere!<br>Mathematics is also on  ilet Caret! We do Mathematics all the time! Even when we do not realize. We count, we measure, we analyze the percentage of white colour in all shades of blue, we categorize in sets, we create art in symmetry or randomly, we feel safe in globally accepted mathematical rules.<br>Every activity includes Mathematics. Language activities, technology, PE, communication, cultural activities...<br>Tomorrow we will be stubents again and think out of the box....<br>;-)</div>]]></description>
