Specific to our school community, we are creating a website that will act as a resource hub for students connecting them to resources and supports related to mental health. I've included a photo of one of our idea webs above!

It was important to the students that the website incorporated different voices and needs in our school. We are collaborating with our Addictions Counsellor, Mental Health Worker, Black Student Graduation Coach, Black Student Association, Rainbow Alliance, Chaplaincy Leader, and Student Success Team (guidance) to compile resources that support the diverse group of students at our school. Everyone has been SO willing and excited to help the grade 9s. 

I've been most surprised by how enthusiastic the students have been about taking on this project. It took no more than a day for them to be completely on board with CBL and the project itself. They are so eager to use the awesome tools - especially the A/V equipment. They are so engaged and willing to 'trust the process'. Students are interested in exploring a wide range of challenges as you can see form the brainstorm on the board above. 

Initially students were and still are finding it hard to resist the jump to solving the problem before investigating etc. At times solving the problem with a solution that already exists.  
We have the whole semester to work on these challenges. We have had Cam Jones in to help ignite and spark some interest, and engagement by encouraging students to explore their own stories. Hoping to  empower students to find challenges that they have perhaps had themselves and are interested in exploring/investigating if others have too.
