         <description><![CDATA[<div>- Temporarily or permanently closing lacerations and cuts<br>- Preventing blisters on areas of skin exposed to repeated friction<br>- Holding bandages,  protective pads, dressings, and splinting devices in place<br>-Securing splints for small fractures<br>-Supporting bony anatomy and relieving stress <br>- Restricting motion to support and eliminate stress on ligaments<br>-Restriction of motion and compression to support muscle, tendon, or stress injuries  <br><br>Examples:<br>-Someone has received a gash or cut while playing and the athletic trainer tapes the wound until stitches can be inserted at a hospital<br>- Wrapping and taping an ankle after a sprain to keep the ankle secure and pain free</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>-The best taping procedure is done directly on shaved skin</div><div>-Taping every day may cause the skin to become irritated</div><div>-Use prewrap and skin adherent prior to taping to prevent skin irritation</div><div>-Make sure the athlete has no allergic reactions to the tape or skin adherent<br>-The area to be taped should be clean and dry<br>-Remove all oils from the skin</div><div>-Cover all cuts and blisters with an adhesive bandage containing some type of skin lubricant</div><div>-Apply skin lubricant and foam padding on friction or pressure areas before applying prewrap<br>-Quality in the tapes<br>-proper tearing and storage of tape<br><br><a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HzAuiBS0dCo">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HzAuiBS0dCo</a></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>-If tape folds over, it is difficult to tear at the fold</div><div>-Use scissors or tear the tape at a fresh edge</div><div>-Turning corners can be a challenge<br>-Make sure it is not too loose or too tight<br>-Excessive pressure will create an aching discomfort when left on for a long period of time; could also interfere with circulation<br>-Excessive friction to the skin could cause blisters<br><br>Example:<br>-When taping an athlete before or during a game, it should be completed quickly. However, if the tape folds over or is unable to be torn, it could waste a lot of time and take longer</div>]]></description>

         <title>Thumb Taping </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>-The simplest protection for a sprained thumb is to tape it to the adjacent index finger<br>1. Use a strip of 1 inch tape to wrap around the thumb and index finger<br>2. After one or two turns have been taken around the thumb and index finger, a strip of 1/2 inch tape is wrapped around the space between the thumb and index finger<br>The shape created by this taping procedure gives it is name, butterfly taping for the thumb</div>]]></description>
