So... you know when you go to the pharmacy, you tell them you have a cough? They might just give you a general drug to mitigate it, as they do for everyone which that same symptom.

However, everyone is different in an unique way, and not only the root problem originating the cough may be different, but also the way your organism reacts to it.

Having this said, and to give a better idea what precision care is, instead of giving you a general solution to a specific problem, your DNA could be screened, such as all your other "diseases" and the treatment should be as specific to you as possible, managing to not interfere negatively with other factors!

I am sure you have been go to hospital once at least in your life. You can see a lot of people waiting in a long queue to get their medicine for their own disease. There might be two people with the same disease and get the same medicine from the pharmacy. But do you know that they can get better at different time? She might have been better in a week but he might need to get back to the hospital. Why? there is where the Single Nucleotide Polymorphism (SNP) might play its role. With only a single changing in the nucleotide, they might change how you react to the medicine you consume. That is why SNP is now considered important in clinical decision.
