Every time you notice a rhetorical strategy underline it

Every time you notice a major point the author is making, circle it

See a change of tone? Take a note of it

Make an educated guess on who the audience is (can help with multiple choice question)

If anything pops out to you, WRITE IT DOWN

Do NOT go slow while doing this, it will take up a lot of your time for answering

As you already know, you will be given 15 minutes to read all the sources. During this time underline any quotes or data that you might use for your essay

If you already have an idea of where you're going for your essay you don't have to read all the sources, just the ones that will help you for your essay

Make an outline of what your central idea is and DO NOT stray away from it.

Pay attention to what the prompt is asking you

Ask you read, make any notes that pop out to you for which you will have to involve in your essay

You need to remember so strong diction in order to "wow" the people that are going to grade your essay

It is of great importance that you don't do what I did because of how I could feel my heart beating out of my chest. The up-side to this is how I had a surge of adrenaline after the test which allowed me not to collapse or faint afterwards.
Here is some advice:

• DO NOT do what I did
• Include some historical fact or your own personal story 
• Make sure you stay focused
• If you get a song stuck in your head, change it to some classical music and hopefully that will help (it did for me)
• Try to make it interesting, the people grading might be tired of reading essays. Make them glad they read yours
